We're getting closer to Halloween and we're ready to launch our creepy looking, but lively tasting cocktail for 2025.
This cocktail looks like something a witch might have brewed in 1875, but tastes far more refined. The Empress Gin gives the drink a cloudy, murky violet base, while the lime brings a sharp, mustard-like acidity that cuts through the botanicals. The Luxardo cherry adds just enough fruit and sweetness to round it out — but in the glass, it sits there like a dead person's eye, watching you. A little eerie, a little elegant, and the perfect balance of creepy and delicious for Halloween.
The Recipe
Eye of Newt
Cocktail by Mike at Roch's Reprieve
• 1.5 oz Empress Gin
• 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
• 1 Luxardo cherry (plus 1 tsp of the cherry juice)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with the cherry.
